The Future of Natural History Books

The Willamette Naturalists discussion about Sharon Rose's book, 'The Natural History of Minto Brown Island" focused on the value of this book in particular and then books of this kind in general. The following link describes a future for books http://vimeo.com/15142335 that I found interesting, especially the feature in Alice that would have geographically specific content in the reader. I had the notion of a 'Willamette Natural History Guide' which might include an essay about a tree when you came near it and only when you were near it. The essay might include a contact to the author, who is a current student or an alum. Reading campus as a text would literally be possible.
